Yes! HelpCity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Your donations on this channel go directly to covering overhead, supplies, and marketing costs of reaching low-income single moms and widows!
We’re also part of Microsoft’s volunteer matching program!

We determine who to help on a first come, first serve basis. We consider other factors, such as urgency level, location, availability, and the type of help needed.

We help with small fixes in the home, building furniture, cleaning/organizing, basic landscaping, and technology help. Examples of things we do not help with: finance-related questions, money donations, and laundry.

You definitely can, but we don’t guarantee more than one site visit as we may have a lot of people on the waitlist!

We are committed to promoting a safe environment to all single moms and widows we serve. All of our volunteers must complete a criminal background check and sign a code of conduct form. Single moms and widows will sign liability forms allowing us to perform services in their home.

Our volunteers will be there for two hours on a Saturday morning, from 10 am to 12 pm.

HelpCity dispatches a group of about 5 people to help in the home. In the interest of our volunteers’ safety and experience, we do not take requests for groups of less than 5 people.

Whether you’re a professional handyman (or woman) or you have no known useful skills to think of (like me), no problem! All are welcome!

Just 2 hours—10 am to 12 pm—on one Saturday of each month.

A volunteer group must at least be 5 people. We encourage that the groupe be co-ed.

You can fill out our Volunteer Application Form. Based on the answers you provide, you will receive an automated response. Qualifying groups will receive a follow-up e-mail.
